Happy 200th Birthday, Hassop!
Bicentenary Thank You Celebration (5th October, 2018)
On the evening of Friday, 5th October, parishioners past and present gathered together to celebrate
Hassop All Saints' Church Bicentenary.
The evening began with an introduction by Father Hugh and was followed by an entertaining organ recital in
the church by local musician, Lynne Clark. In addition, flautist and parishioner, 12 year old Joe Wilson
astounded everyone with his beautiful playing of Violetta's Aria from La Traviata.
This all took place against a backdrop of six finely crafted tapestries (by parishioner, Anne Shimwell)
depicting the story of the Creation. The colourful tapestries will serve as a reminder of the Bicentenary.
Music was followed by copious refreshments in the parish rooms where everyone had an opportunity to
catch up with each other.
Everyone enjoyed a happy evening.
Thanks to Father Hugh, to the organisers, to the musicians and to all the parishioners who provided
delicious food and helped with the catering and last but definitely not least, to the parishioners past and
present who came to celebrate with us!
